If I start as your DM, it will start in Ursaphous, but will not be confined to always returning there/being based there. Who wants in? Sparky, Blacktom? Questions? Also, when you sign up, let me know if you've read: The Wizard's Amulet/ The Crucible of Freya by Necromancer Games. If not, that might be an easy scenario to jump-start you on that could be later passed off to another DM.

Unfortunately, I've read both WA and CoF and have run part of CoF. Sorry about that. As for character classes - I'm happy to play any class needed. When I do get to play TT, I usually have to play spell casters to leave the simpler classes open for less experienced player, which was why I chose to play a fighter as my first LD PC - it was a class that I had not played under 3e (other than NPCs). So as I said I'm willing to play any class. That said I did spend 20 mins with PCGen working up the concept of a female elven cleric of Ehlonna. She was built with existing LD rules but can easily be scaled back to 1st level.

I thought I might get the ball rolling on the new party by posting a character in the LD character forum. She is deliberately a generalist and can act as a secondary fighter, a secondary scout and knows a little on a number of subjects. I thought that was best as it looks like we could be a small party - at least to start with. You should have a range of options to play with when deciding on your PC - even another cleric .

Posts: 1177 Feb 21 08 5:08 AM Vampire Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Welcome Erica The main rules for the living dungeon can be found in the Living Dungeon Handbook thread although sections 4 and 10 (lists of DMs and party rosters) are very out of date. Also this new group is starting a level 1 with the average gp for the PCs class (PHB p111) rather than 2nd level with 900gp. Currently we are finishing up a very large battle where all the groups came together for a fight and the plan is to split back into parties again. This fight has taken 2 years real time and in that time, PCs have died, others have joined and players have left, so we are in the process of sorting out how the parties are being split. Nate is keeping track of that here. The game is a fairly typical PbP game with the players posting their actions in the IC thread for the group and the DM making all the rolls and responding. There is also an OOC thread for each group to comment on the game.

I'm thinking of creating an elven wizard if nobody minds. Otherwise I wouldn't mind playing a paladin (always wanted to do that). I'll post a character any day now.

Posts: 1177 Feb 24 08 6:10 AM Vampire Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Hey Tom, If this is going to start out as a small group with less than 4 PCs then a fighter type such as your paladin might be a better option. At low levels wizards are so vulnerable and in a small party - particularly vulnerable. I don't know if Dragon is going to put of a notice for players in the general forum, or if he will get more players for this group (or the evil group) if he does. It might be an idea to hold back a little longer to see if we get more players. It will be interesting to see what class Erica prefers as well.

For the past 2 years the game has been very slow and we have been lucky to move at a round a month for this big battle. I hope that things will speed up once smaller groups are formed again, but even when the game was running at it's speediest 2 rounds a week was the fastest it ran during combat, with players posting as an when at other times. A 3 day gap isn't a problem at all, particularly if everyone knows that that is the case. Few people check the game daily.

Do we know of any others? I think that's it for the new party and while DnDChick expressed an interest she hasn't really confirmed that she's in. This new group is the one group that could get going without the need to wait for the main battle to wrap up. Dragon did say he was going to make an announcement in the "general" forum for new players and I've been waiting on that before trying to push this group forwards.

She almost dropped into being a follower of Ehlonna due to a love of nature and curiosity and found herself granted powers by the Goddess. She has no experience of cities or even large communities, so it should be interesting. Tom: I think either would do. On the one hand someone with the social skills of a paladin would be useful considering Aecethyen's total lack in that department, on the other a barbarian's power in combat is very useful for a low level party. I've had a reply from Erica (DnDChick) and she feels that she has too much going on in her life currently to play so we are back to 2 players. Maybe it's time to make an announcement in the general forum. That would probably be best coming from Dragon or Nospeed.
