It could be that you have triggered the start of a cataclysm--or inadvertently completed the ritual the priest has been working on. The antilife shell seems to be centered on the altar, so a targeted dispel on Azarr Kul would not bring it down. On the other hand, an area dispel could be used to get the unhallow effect, the antilife shell, and probably one spell effect on Azarr Kul (along with anyone else in the area). You could probably also get the blade barrier with it. This presupposes you guys start rolling better on your dispel checks! Missles are something but trying to hit 30+ ac is very difficult. I have advised Miko to use her heartseeker amulet the next time she shoots her arrows. Also, Donav pointed it out to me that elementals,outsiders and undead are not hedged out by anti-life shells. So the air elemental could get in there and whirlwind Azzar up, out and into his own blade barrier.

Until the unhallowed effect is dispelled, Azarr Kul is still protected via a protection from evil effect, so the elemental cannot touch him directly for slam attacks, bull rush, etc. either. It hedges out living things, but not nonliving objects such as arrows, reach weapons, spells, and the like. The spell is in the Player's Handbook and the SRD. Note that normally it is centered on a creature; this one however seems to be fixed to the altar itself, since it did not move with him when he shifted. Not that Copper would know the details of this. All he'd know is that there's some sort of invisible barrier keeping him off the dais, and it blocks him, but not his weapons or gear. It has also been hedging out the air elemental and Miko. With an AC higher than 30, with all my current bonuses, I need to roll an 18+ to hit with a bow. I could put the Gem of Electricity on the bow to boost its damage (1d6). No reach weapons. Even if we only succeed on a single dispel I'll be able to heal, by casting Heal from a scroll in the shaft, holding the charge, and flying in and touching the person I want to heal. Plus , Copper still has all his healing touch ability available, so we're still good for a big fight. Ken

On the one hand, the shaken condition lingers even after the spell ends. It's like how when fly is dispelled, you feather fall down, rather than plummeting to the earth. Basically, you can view it as lingering emotional trauma from experiencing such unbelievable agonizing torment. On the other hand, shaken is a fear effect (along with panicked and frightened) which IIRC the heroes' feast makes you immune to, so you should not be affected by it. (Though you may well experience post-traumatic stress for years to come, thrashing about as you relive the torment you experienced in your nightmare recollections. Enjoy!)
