Karl can cram himself into a surprising amount of places. Think in 3-D, think of ropes of climbing, think of a dragonspawn overcoat, think of Taun-Tauns.

If Karl dies, I'll just bring in 'Paladin Guy' a greatsword-swinging, smite-unleashing engine of DOOM!

What time of day is it?

Even if no one dies, you could still kill Karl and teleport, then have him raised. I'm sure he won't mind.
There is a time limit, but back when you were given the mission you were told it would be one to two weeks. It's been about five days so far, so you'll probably have time for one more pit stop...possibly even two or three, but each time you push your luck a little further. Still, if it comes to a choice between likely TPK and pushing your luck a little with an extra day's delay, it would seem to be no contest to me which is the preferred option.

Oh yes, we know what you want to happen...
Perhaps Trell can summon a bunch of unicorns. Those cure spells would come in handy |

Perhaps after healing, Trell can use a silence scroll to help put a stop to the spells.

Copper has this item:
Blackened Iron Dragon Figurine* (by speaking command word "noxauris" as spell trigger effect (like a wand), casts silence at CL 3; can be used two times per day) I fear the save DC would be to low to be effective. Someone with UMD could give it a try.

That doesn't work...all he has to do is step out of the silenced area before casting.
To succeed, I would have to cast silence on him. The DC on both the device and the scrolls is terrible. Ken |

Thats why you should cast it on say Miko or a summoned critter. Miko keeps moving up and keeps the sorcerer in the silence area. That was my
suggestion with buying the silence scrolls: Summon a critter like an elemental, order it to attack any casters after you put a silence spell on it.(Worked in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil) |

That's a better idea, but it has two problems.
1) the sorcerer can always take an AoO from miko and move out of the silenced area, since the radius of silence is 20ft and the sorcerer can move 30ft. 2) If Miko is silenced, I can't heal her without first dispelling the silence. I think I have a plan that is better than using Silence. Ken |

I should've taken the fiendish heritage jokes like I joked about to DestyNova. Fiendish Legacy would've given me Teleport 1/day as a spell-like
ability, and an extra Summon Monster V to boot!
(Of course, the requirement is a non-good alignment and I would be weaker at summoning

Maps from 6/22 session:
INITIATIVE ORDER (ROUND 20) wraiths Donav Trellara (we are here, and she has moved 20 feet so far) Copper Hobgoblin Warpriest Karl Miko White Sorcerer Dire Bats Hobgoblin Clerics Bugbear Shaman AREA DESCRIPTION A twenty-foot wide hall stretches away before you. The walls and ceiling have been painted with the images of a multitude of flying dragons of various chromatic hues, all flying in your direction as if sweeping in to attack. In the distance, a pulsing light throbs, bathing the passage in a faint kaleidoscope of colors. This circular chamber is dominated by a three-tiered circular platform. Five sinuous stone dragon necks arc up from around the second tier, their heads turned upward to aim open maws at a pulsating hemisphere set in the ceiling above. Within each of the dragon's jaws glows a brilliant sphere of rapidly pulsating light, shifting from white to red to green to blue to black. The ceiling in this area rises to a thirty-foot-high dome. An alcove to the north houses a ten-foot-wide shaft leading up through the ceiling. At the center of the tier, two priests stand back to back - one a hobgoblin, the other's larger, burlier form marking it out as a bugbear. At the base of the plinth, an additional armored hobgoblin priest stands at the base of each of the five dragon heads. Overhead, Donav's bats fly, ready to snap at the hovering form of the white-robed sorcerer. The bats in turn have been engaged in combat by four chilling, floating black-robed figures--wraiths!

Those are many clerics which means many Hold Persons. I dunno about Donav being able to turn the wraiths since it is no doubt unhallowed. If we want to make it
easier to shut down the spell slingers, I suggest the elemental+silence route. Even half of the clerics silenced would be a big help. A silenced earth
elemental can earth glide under the clerics and protect itself from attacks.
Plus making Copper and Miko inviso so they can charge and attack can help. I suggest this: 1.Copper and Miko drink my inviso potions 2. While this is going on, Trell summons an elemental, gives it orders and then silences it. 3. Elemental moves ahead of Copper and Miko. I suggest Miko douse her weapon with Bless weapon. Those crits will be needed. 4. Rest of group moves up behind. |

The question is, do we fight or flee?
If we flee, we dont get the dragon hoard. We haven't gotten much treasure at all, actually. If we fight we need to deal with 4 wraiths. Anyone have a ghost touch weapon? They cause CON DRAIN. They will be dificult if not impossible to turn. Ken |

Miko had ghost blight capsules, but they were stolen along with her main weapon. There were only 3 capsules though. No one else has ghost touch or spells that
are good against wraiths. Another reason to flee is so we avoid yet another keystone cops scene with us flailing away with our weapons and having to deal with
the wraith's 25-50% insubstantial miss factor. Remember how the ghost bard fight went down?
A suggestion is for everyone to run back and shove as much gold as they can into their haversacks. I'll give someone my rope of climbing (3000k) to sell. 4 of you teleport back and buy ghost touch oils or scroll spells. I also suggest a rope trick scroll or two. I will hide out somewhere and if I die, oh well.

Here are some options
It seems like the right thing for me to do is to retreat back to the party/dragons lair. Then either they will come after us (and we will all be together) or they will sit and buff (and we can all approach together). I don't favor fleeing now; we are mostly at full HP, and while we are down some spells their sorcerer is way down too. I don't see how things will be better for us next time. Also, we can't even all teleport out. Maybe the right sequence of events is 1) everyone retreats to the dragon hoard 2) we loot/buff 3) after we have the loot we go after them if they haven't engaged us yet. Since we know there is a big fight coming we will be able to prep for it. Ken |

You could always go in there, tell them how awed you are by the holy might of Tiamat, and offer your services as mercenaries/loyal elite in exterminating the
surviving civilization in Elsir Vale. I'm sure they'd believe you...

Copper has several invisibility potions, thanks for the offer. Additional healing would be the most useful thing for Copper at this point. Copper can use the following potions to buff with prior to this fight: Fly (prefer to save for dragon fight, but will use now if all agree), Invisibility x4 (will share), Bull Strength (not sure if this stacks with gauntlets of
ogre power), Protection from Evil, Resist Energy (electricity).
