It would depend on how often you are available, Ken. If you'd only be showing up one game in three or something, I'd prefer not (though you could always come and observe, and possibly control an NPC if one is about). Unlike Tegel Manor, there's a definite ongoing focus to this game, so it'd be a lot more difficult unless all the players are prepared to show up for most or all of the sessions.

DtBF is correct, with the online game I am DMing continuing, there is little chance at this time that I can participate regularly. It sounds like a lot of fun and I'm a little disappointed to not be in a position to join in, but thems the breaks.

Just to get some preliminary discussion going, I was planning on a good ole dwarf warrior (primarilyfighter), with a twist

I believe Mondays will be fine. I'm interested in playing a caster hybrid type. Can we play caster classes from PHB2 or Tome of Magic? I recall one from each book that I'd like to look at more closely. I'm leaning more toward PHB2 without having the books here with me at work.

I don't have Tome of Magic, so that's out. I do have the PHB2, though, so if you want to run a class from there, go ahead.

OK, well it's really hard to say how often I could play, so I'd better opt out.
have fun! Ken |

Quote: I looked for a Karl in the Chat Characters so I could see what type of party we are starting here but didn't find him. What race and class is the Karl? I'm thinking about a Dwarf with some minor healing ability but mostly a support fighter. I'm expecting we will have an alignment grouping requirement of either good or lawful with no evil? |

Karl vanished in the crash, but i have a earlier version of him. He is a rogue, specializing in trap finding/disarming.

I won't be too fussy about alignments, but I'd recommend leaning toward lawful and away from evil. Still, if someone comes up with a cool LE character I won't say no purely because of the alignment. Just keep in mind you'll need to have a rationale to cooperate with your fellow party members.

Here's a summary of what people may be playing, so far:
DestyNova1 - Karl (fighter/rogue type) LadyLeora - druid? Spelunk Pixie - Rooksarii - Seppuku Squirrels - fighter/cleric? leadjunkie - One thing that was suggested last night was having a kind of swing PC/NPC, who could be controlled by people such as thegrandoracle or kenmckinney if they are around, but otherwise would be an NPC. This sounds feasible to me if we have 5 or fewer players, but with six players I'd say probably not at this time. However, if anybody finds they have to drop out, I'll bear it in mind for the future. I'd probably make the PC myself to fill some missing role in the group, and make it a relatively straightforward race/class (like a human monk or sorcerer). |

Just to make sure before I do a write up on my new character concept, do dragons as creatures exist in this gameworld? And if they do, are there both good and evil dragons?

Yes there are definitely dragons, of all the classic types, good and evil. Will there be dragons in this game? Could be!

It just wouldn't do to create a Dragon Shaman from PHB2 if there weren't any dragons in the game world. It's a fighter with auras of healing or initiative bonus and that type of thing. Not the perfect healer class but a great support healer. Still envisioning him as a dwarf.

A dragon shaman is an interesting and good choice. Just be sure he's the shaman for a metallic dragon, not a chromatic one!

I'm working up a Human Cleric 1/Monk 5/Sacred Fist 1 (from Complete Divine). I'm not familiar with Greyhawk deities, so I Googled them and have picked Pelor, but I am open to suggestions. I'm taking Healing and Strength domains. Complete Divine suggests allowing non-lawful Monks for this Prc build, but I went with LG anyway, even if the alignment is not an exact match with Pelor. Again, I'm open to suggestions on the religion/alignment angle.
Let me know if this is acceptable. I have all the books you have and am working within those guidelines. Can I use Arms & Equipment Guide for mundane adventuring equipment (I.E. non-magical items)? |

All the deities listed in the Player's Handbook are Grayhawk gods, so any of them is fine. For LG, Heironeus is also good, but Pelor should be fine too.
Arms and Equipment Guide--I have it, and would allow its use, though anything pulled from it would have to be approved by me first, of course. One thing I allowed in Barakus which I won't be using here is those desatanos or whatever they were called (the bracelets that functioned like shields to give additional AC bonus). |

leadjunkie-
A fun feat from PHB2 for Monks... Fiery Fist - by channeling your ki energy, you sheathe your limbs in magical fire. Your unarmed strikes deal extra fire damage. Prereq: dex 13 wis 13 Improved unarmed strike, stunning fist, BAB +8 or a monk with stunning fist can select Fiery Fist as the bonus feat at 2nd level even if they do not meet the prereqs. Benefit: As a swift action you can expend one of your uses of stunning fist feat to surround your fists and feet in flame. For the rest of your turn you gain an extra 1d6 points of fire damage on your unarmed strikes. When you select this feat you gain one extra daily use of Stunning Fist. Leads into a ki blast at 8th level which allows you to throw orbs of ki energy as a ranged touch attack. 3d6 + WIS mod for damage. Costs 2 stun fist uses and grants 1 extra use per day. |
