Since a forum has officially been opened for this series now, I thought I'd start a thread to give some tidbits and factoids to whet the curiosity on the first adventure in the series.
Slumbering Tsar, Part 1: The Desolation
Cover Art and Cartography - Rick Sardinha.
(I don't know the name of who is doing the interior art yet, but I'm told it's nearing completion.)
Approximately 128 pages
I calculated this at an average of 750 words per page and doesn't account for maps, or stat blocks for non-SRD monsters at the end of the book. It also doesn't account for the outcome of the editorial process (I haven't seen the final version), so I suppose this could change significantly based on the editor's pen.
13 maps including a small town and several dungeon and wilderness locations.
This does not include the general area map of the Desolation that I drew as a large poster map but, as I understand it, is actually being printed in the adventure as 4 full-page maps. So in total that would be 17 maps.
In addition to many SRD monsters, I made copious use of the Creature Collections I-III and Tomes of Horrors I-II (TOH III was not yet out at the time of writing).
Included with these are about 6 brand new monsters.
And thrown in for good measure are a couple new magic items.
So there you have a sneak peak at ST1.
As time passes, if people want, I will post new peaks into the adventure until it comes out, the entire text of the adventure has been inadvertantly posted on these message boards, or Bill and Clark ban me posting.
