I have a question about this Priest of ORcus in this module. I can't find any information in any of my books that I own about these PRiests. The only information is in the module itself. But I am under the impression that this module is completely D&D 3.0 I've noticed a few things about how this module is designed. But I've still been able to run it and my players are riveted.
The problem I have is with Death Touch. I see that the priest has to do a touch attack first. Thats fine. Then he rolls 4d6 and if I roll higher than the players current hit points. He dies with no save. I have this feeling that this ability would have been changed if it was created using D&D 3.5
I find this ability very unfair to the players and when I use it soon someones not going to be happy.
So far the players have done everything text book on how the module should be run. Which i am surprised. Where we left off playing last sessions the entire party of 5 2nd level players are up in the Bell Tower with the dead Orc Sentry at their feet hehe. They have the body laying on the trap door just in case. The sun was just coming up and I figured ORc Captain got impatient waiting for his raiding party to show up. He stormed out into the courtyard followed by his 8 Orcs and the Ogre and banged on the Temple front doors. I had Vortgern come out and started an angry exchange on the situation. Thats when we stopped for the night after 9 hours of solid D&D. They didnt even let me have a lunch break. Had to eat my burger while roleplaying the halfling Lennot pickpocketing the ranger in the Inn
I figured Tavic was finishing up his nightly prayers to ORcus and didnt want to be bothered right away. So I have Vertigan answer initialy. THe party hates Vertigan and that Imp with a passion hehe. That Imp really got them good at the farm house and took the Amulet.
Now I have a week to decide how to handle what happens next. I guess If the players wait it out then the ORc Capt is suppose to send out a patrol to see what went wrong with the Crucible raid. So that would be a good time for the players to strike from up there. (It sure was funny seeing the parties dwarf cleric in armor tryin gto move silently and climb a rope up the walls! lol.)
