Plus, its been 90 days now, I think its safe to assume Drivethru/RPGnow isn't going to offer PoD anytime soon, and Necro's been more than fair in the time they've given them. I'm no publishing guru, but LuLu has made the time and costs of printing more transparent to us amateurs. A good durable 400-page OSRIC sells (non-profit) for only $15 bucks (or a cheap version for $10), so I'm betting they could price these 100-200-page modules at around $10-20 and they'd fly out the door while still turning a nice profit-per-book. $20 print version vs. $30 .pdf? Seems like a no-brainer to me, plenty of folks that don't even run d20 anymore would probably pick these up to convert or mine for ideas. The fact that these could be sold, printed, and in the customer's hands in 3-5 business days if only someone was willing to spend all of 10-20 minutes to set up an account and upload the files pains me... Not that that means it won't happen, but is there anything more recent than this - like affirmative progress reports? I had really hoped to have Slumbering Tsar slumbering under my tree for Christmas. Maybe Valentine's Day? I have little use for pdf's though I may be in the shrinking minority here. I'm on their e-mail list... not even a hint of their intentions to do POD. I've had nothing but good experiences with Lulu. The prices are what they are; mostly set by the authors. I've purchased very good values. The printing and covers (saddle stitch. perfect bound and hard bound) have all been good. The product is well packed, shipping is quick and not at all over priced compared to other e-tailers. I think folks outside the USA get tagged on shipping. Not being on Lulu is a mistake unless there are other financial aspects not apparent to the consumer. Games I am... There are some very real financial aspects to having books available on Lulu for the author/publisher, and they're generally not favorable aspects. I don't know the sepcifics of how Lulu prices their books or how the sales price of a given book or line of books is split between Lulu and the author/publisher, but the percentage that Lulu keeps is significant. And that may be enough of a deterant all by itself. OTOH, not being on Lulu can cause you to miss some sales that customers might make with bundled orders of other publishers' books. So there's some weighing of costs and benefits that each author or publisher has to make, none of which would be apparent to the potential customer pool. http://black-blade-publishing.com

There was and is (at least as posted earlier by Vladicu), and so one gentleman's agreement is now resolved regarding pdfs: ping 1 - I just purchased Slumbering Tsar ping 2 - I just picked up Eamonvale Incursion ping 3 - I just bought Demonheart Happy New Year, everyone!!! I'd love for someone to tell me "no it ain't happenin" so I can buy the PDF or, better yet, "yeah, it's happenin' soon (or right now", or whatever. I just want to know where to stand. Ideally? Allow for those who buy the pdf to get the cost of a pdf subtracted from the print product...so if I buy the pdf now, I don't regret it, and then I still want to buy the print product.
