Create a Whole New World.
Specifically, have a contest similar to what WotC did a few years back which resulted in Eberron. Then future NG could develop future products for the winner as well as more generic fantasy mods.
What do you think?

Jumpstarting NG: New World Contest! |

With the Citystate of the Invincible Overlord/Wilderness Campaign back to Judges Guild(?), Dungeons and Dragons and the GSL continuing to hamstring NG, and --
most importantly -- the Pathfinder Core RPG now out (all *ooph!* four pounds of gaming goodness), here's an idea on how Necromancer Games can splash big
again:

I dont believe it will ever happen however, if it did, I would buy into it to take things for use in my Wilderlands campaign. NG has come out with all kinds
of protable adventures that lend themselves well to that setting. As for another world, I dont know.

I'd prefer NG to stick to their stengths and focus on adventures and supplements that can easily plug into a variety of campaign worlds. You never have to
worry about cleaning up setting-specific details in the product set to use in your own campaign, aside from the obvious stuff like place names and deities.
Maybe a contest aimed at designing a locale or adventure type (i.e. dungeon, desert, jungle, urban, etc.), though this may overlap too much with RPG Superstar to be warrant any consideration. |

I am sorry to disagree about this, but the last thing we need is yet another campaign setting. I think there are plenty of them out there for all versions of
D&D AND one for Pathfinder. I myself am not interested, but, hey, what do I know anyways.

I don't see any need for another "standard" fantasy campaign setting, but would may be interested in something a bit more off beat. That said,
that wouldn't be very "first edition feel"

How about scaling it back a bit, and having a contest to design a village, Hommlett-style, to be included as an appendix in Necro's flagship 4E or PF
adventure?

I agree with others. More adventures, especially quick ones like that in the demons and devils book and the taverns book.

I commend your positive outlook, joela.
Necro already has a rough campaign setting that they could really go ahead and flesh out. Most of that "campaign" setting has yet to appear. I wish they'd done a Reme sourcebook. I really like Bard's Gate. |

Sen the Collector wrote:I love Bard's Gate! And I think I made the suggestion some time back on another thread. I would like to see more towns and small to mid-sized cities. There are not enough of those. I am not sure about a new campaign world. But, fleshing out the NG world is not a bad idea. I would prefer to see plug-in cities. The problem I always run into is that most of the published cities are huge, gigantic, impossibly large cities. Some small cities with flavor would be great......something I can plug into the Wilderlands or that someone can use in the NG world.

Yes, something like another Fairhill. I grafted that into Greyhawk and got a ton of use out of it.

"Crucible of Freya" (and thus Fairhill) was written for 3.0. Would a Pathfinder version of it be of interest to anyone?
Like others, I'd prefer to see new material from NG but re-doing CoF might be a good way to "introduce" NG to the Pathfinder crowd as well as make it available to people who missed it the first time around. Maybe even expand it a bit by including "Wizard's Amulet" and the web enhancement material (all updated to Pathfinder) so the whole story/setting is in a single book. Sort of a "Fairhill Revisited/Reloaded", if you will. Just a thought. ________________________________ "Not all who wander are lost." - J.R.R. Tolkien

Actually, that might work. I am not sure how much of the setting was really embedded. I ported that to my Wilderlands campaign. I wonder if the
adventure-path could be reworked to fit into Golarion. That is the homeworld for Paizo and since it would be a partnership (I presume) then why not port it to
Golarion and update it? There would be enough changes to interest me. I wont use Golarion, but from a packaged marketable percpective....it has potential.
