The 3.0 Player's Handbook that is the revised print with the Dungeon Magazine articles in the back (instead of the "survival guide" that came in
the first print run or two)

Interesting, I never even noticed that. Yeah, I have it, but I'm going to keep it. My niece and nephew have mostly 3.0 stuff, so if either of them ever
run a game that's probably what it'll be. Besides, I enjoy flipping through it now and again. There are quite a few subtle differences between the
3.0 and 3.5 books, including the art used.

Thanks Sen- I personally feel 3.0 (with eratta) is the better rule set over 3.5 (some of the diffrences may seem subtle, but they have bigger implications -
like the change in 3.5 DR which snowballed into the X-mas Tree problem)
My current 3.0 PHB is a 1st print which was horrendously riddled with errors and includes the (now) useless "Survival Guide", so I'd like to get the updated copy, just in case I'm ever strongarmed into running another 3.0 game

My friend does but I think he soaked the book in water or something, it is all bloated warped and falling apart. He swears all he did was drop it in the puddle
once.

Heh. Good sized puddle I reckon! Sounds like the kind I made it my mission to tromp through on a rainy day when I was a kid
The 3.0 PHB goes for around 3-5 bucks from many Amazon used booksellers (and there are hundreds of 'em) , but rarely is any printing info listed except a very few that have noted "first print" (which obviously does me no good)

I have a copy Jeff. 2nd printing, November 2000. Has the familiars stats and Dragon articles in it (role models, sage advice and the power play blurbs).
I'm willing to trade but live in Canada, so the shipping would be pricier for both of us obviously than within the US.

Thats the one!
I actually found out one of my former players has one, if it's in acceptable shape (checking it out this weekend) I'll grab that one off him. If not, I'll let you know PDM, Thanks!

No worries about the PHB, Jeff. Offer is still there if you change your mind in the future.
Thanks re: Borderlands, I appreciate it! I had to take a break for a couple weeks. Work was hugely busy and my wife left after almost 12 years of marriage. Apparently she needed to "find herself" whatever that means. So non-gaming life sucks right now. Anyway, should be back to blogging again fairly regularly from now on. I think it'll be good for me as an outlet for frustration, as well as gaming stuff!

Hang tough, and if you don't have anyone to talk to, I'll be happy to listen, as some of your other friends on this board will. PM me if you need to, amigo. I am behind in following the Borderlands - need to catch up!

Thanks Mr. Frau. The well wishes of people here and who follow the blog are very much appreciated. One of the things I like about us gamers, particularly the
more seasoned crowd here at the Necroboards, is that we all kind of got each others' backs even when we don't know each other outside the interwebs or
agree on editions or other trivial bits of gamer ephemerae. It's encouraging and an emotional boost, at least for me. If there are positives right now with
my ex it's that we don't have kids, so the separation/divorce part is pretty easy if a bit tense. And I'm single again and only 38, plenty of life
left for me to razzle-dazzle the ladies.

Sorry to hear it, PDM.
But, if it's not working, better to end it then to live in misery.... (And there *are* a few other women out there.... Best of luck! |
