So that says that LGS' who blame Paizo's PDF bonus for lost sales are a bunch of Chicken Littles claiming tthe sky is falling. Which I personally can believe, because business wise, many LGS owners are idiots when it comes to business. They are often idiots about RPG's as well, because they will only support what they think is the main money maker, and ignore making any effort to expand the RPG tastes of the consumers they do have, ensuring their RPG sales will only be as good as the growth of 4E, which will decline, not grow. So they set themselves on only a road of shrinking sales. So rather than realizing they stabbed themselves in the back from day one, they blame companies like PAizo for their inept business sense.
Never mind, if they really want to help their own sales, they would be mad at WOTC for allowing Amazon to sell 4E books. Amazon is doing more to kill the LGS than any other single factor, but they only cry about how PDF sales are killing their business. Idiots.
So because they are idiots, and do not look to increase their sales growth via expanding the interests of their customers into other RPG's, companies like Necromancer would fight a serious up hill battle to get into the stores of those same idiots.
The ONLY reason Goodman is doing so well in 4E is because he isn't an idiot. He knew he had to stay in print, and not wait on the GSL. So Goodman was the ONLY alternative choice to any modules WOTC put out. The ONLY competition! So guess who got looked at and bought? Goodman DCC's. Which is why he is doing so well as a 3PP, he was the only alternative for MONTHS!! Even Mongoose and XRP were slow out the door, and it shows!
Goodman kept his market presence and his market penetration, everyone else lost theirs. Now it shows. Clearly. Except with idiots who have no business being business men/persons/people in the first place. The first thing to realize about going into business, the market changes. Consumer buying changes. The savvy business person is able to see those changes coming and adapt. The idiots cry about the sky falling as their store walls crumble around them.
