How did everyone going to Gen Con do with their hotel reservations? I logged in at exactly 12:00 PM EST today, and was able to book a room at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station. I have never stayed at this hotel before, and was wondering what folks who have thought of it? It amazed me at how quickly the available hotel rooms (especially those close to the Convention Center) were gobbled up. Within 30 minutes the only available hotel rooms were 8+ miles away. WOW!!!

Yeah, I kind of wondered if that wouldn't be the case again this year. That happened the last couple of years, too.

I was getting kind of fidgetity early Tuesday morning, so I booked a room at the Sheridan City Center (downtown) outside of the Gen Con Housing process before the GCH site opened up. I'm very glad I booked early, otherwise I'd have ended up out at the airport and getting to drive into downtown. As it is, I'm about 4 blocks from the ICC. I've stayed at the Sheridan before (in 2007). It's a nice place and the walk isn't bad at all.
