Re: 5E play experiences? (reply)
I'll be interested to hear how it plays for someone who goes through all levels (compared to the other editions). It looks like the best edition yet for new players, but for those of us who are used to a bit more variety with damage...

Re: 5E play experiences? (reply)
I've liked the 5e play for the most part, though we've been playing sporadically either F2F or over Roll20. I think we're still shaking off the "look at character sheet to see what to do" style from 3.x but slowly getting to there. It...

Re: Frog God Games + Center stage Miniatures = Tome of Horrors Minis!  (reply)
I'm at a state of where all the ToH I and II pledges (and King of Evil Dragons) are all lost in my mind, so whatever I happen to get back would be like finding money in an old coat pocket.....optimism by way of pessimism!

5E play experiences? (topic)
Curious how my fellow Necroboarders are finding their 5E play experience. So far, I've played in one long weekend session (as a Wizard) in the Mines of Madness, and have DM'd two nice long sessions of Rise of the Runelords. So far, all...

Actually, that might be good for us - if there are any assets to liquidate. We may get a portion of our money back.

Geez, that blog's depressing, MFB. I feel bad that FGG's name is even associated with this.

Pretty sure all the money raised is gone. Like LJ said, robbing Peter to pay Paul, as the three kickstarters (Demons&Devils, Tome 1 & 2) promised a lot for the price. Some people are still waiting on figures from...

If CSM has existing inventory of other products, then they could still offer alternative minis. If they don't have inventory, then you're probably right.

I think we can assume that we are screwed. It seems clear to me that CSM was robbing Peter to pay Paul with the succesive KickStarters. I also believe that KickStarter funds were used for CSM's general business. I think Matt was betting...

I'm not really happy about being out the $200 so I expect to get $200 worth of minis or credit - not $100.

I went in for all 3 campaigns, but unlike a lot I did get my demons/devils minis and the limited edition Tsathoggua already. King of Evil Dragons plus the TOH I and II, I'm in the same boat as everyone else. Not to offer excuses to CSM,...

Re: 5E on anyone's radar? (reply)
I do like how they've removed prestige classes and switched to archetypes/class features. I think prestige classes were a neat idea, but the execution of them was poor in 3.x. (They actually work better as NPC classes in 3.x/Pathfinder.)

Classes I want to play NOW:Rogue/AssassinRogue/Arcane TricksterWizard/DivinerMan, they did a great job with these, perfect combination of flavor and mechanical utility.

I was really "meh" during the playtests as well -- particularly didn't like the advantage/disadvantage system. But it seems to play well. Looking forward to more releases!

It's almost like Mearls & co. set out to make an edition geared towards making me eat my words. Felt "meh" during playtests - ordered all the core books and the KQ adventures. Can't stand warlocks - that's my new character in the...

I'm considering a house rule of recovering 1 HD per night instead if all of them, but since I haven't actually run a campaign yet, will see how the RAW goes first. I really like the rogue in this edition - damn hard to pick between 3...
