Sorry to hear about the ongoing connection flakiness, but the lofts look cool. Plus, it gives me a chance to set up to run MapTools on a netbook (arrived
today.)
Now, to unleash screaming temporal doom!

So are we on for tonight, I hope. I'm looking forward to mixing it up with pseudo-Skald, along with whatever comes our way next!

I may very well be somewhat late - it's my niece's birthday, and I have to go over for dinner. Will try to be back as soon as possible. In case I'm
unreasonably delayed and someone else has to drive Blodwyn, he has a rapier in his right hand and a thunderstone in his left. I plan on tossing the stone
behind Skald such that it affects him but not me. It should make a big noise to wake everyone up, anyhow.
Now, to unleash screaming temporal doom!

Sounds good Targetboy. Hopefully your PC is still alive by the time you join us!
Another alternative might be to just keep yelling and go full defense. Note that throwing an item provokes an attack of opportunity, though I think you do have room to 5-foot step back and toss out of your enemy's threat range (Ken can confirm or deny this).

BTW, anyone who wants to ask a question of Rowyn can do so here.
Basically, the story she tells with regards to Vanthus is that he came to her with a plan to use his family fortune and her connections to bankroll the lotus dragons, enabling them to control the Sasserine Harbor and become the dominant Thieve's Guild in Sasserine. When, to his surprise, Lavinia inherited, he broke into the vault and stole the money. When the Lotus Dragons were attacked by your group he was off at a place called Kraken's Cove doing some side deal with the Crimson Fleet. She thinks he planned to betray them, burning their boats. He never returned from that trip, and she assumes that he is dead. She has no idea where Gut Tugger went. He's a clever creature; there's no telling! It would have been difficult for Gut Tugger to reconnect with Rowyn; lizards can't easily ask around in bars. |

Gut Tugger: Hidden campaign mastermind! If only we had known...
Were the Lotus Dragons (under Rowyn's command) in existence before she met with Vanthus, or did they come up with the organization together? I wonder what Lavinia would feel about being a secret co-owner of a thieves guild in Sasserine...? I'll be sure to fill Rowyn in on what we know of Vanthus, including his obviously using Rowyn for his own ends. Might also mention that we had approached the Lotus Dragon guild with the intent of confronting her and Vanthus with this truth, but one thing led to another, people got all hot-blooded, and...well, she knows the rest. Truly unfortunate all around!

By the way, I think you mentioned, Ken, that your group had a lot of trouble with the blue slaad. How did they do with finding Rowyn and dealing with the
floatsam ooze? Or would telling us now give away vital information?

They had a wizard who cast See Invisibility and discovered Rowan. They stomped her; they were heavy on casters so her Hold Person spells weren't as big of
a threat.
With the ooze, well it killed their Duskblade before they dispatched it. They didn't have a cleric; that really hurt them. BTW the rules as written for the flotsam ooze were pretty brutal; it's aquatic, it starts off on the edge of the boat and can grab people (its grapple is automatic by the rules and can't be broken because of the adhesive while it is alive), and pull them overboard, where the drowning rules come into play. Imagine being grappled and held underwater by that thing. I had it come up on deck both time I ran it; that enabled you guys to really concentrate firepower. One thing to keep in mind is that I haven't been upping the strength of solo creatures to take your increased numbers into account. It feels like the campaign has been deadly enough without doing that! I did add flunkies to the lotus dragon fight and the frogman fight; quite a few in both cases. I feel like 3.X adventure often have unrealistically low numbers of creatures in them. Ken |

Yes, the Mephits were hers. They're single use magic items called 'Pickled Mephits' -- mephits crammed into a jar that attack when it breaks.
Nope, haven't heard from TheRavyn. Ken |

Hey there!
I'm afraid I won't be able to make it to the game this Wednesday. I'm going out with some friends to see the latest Harry Potter movie, and as this is our only opportunity for over a week, I can't pass it up. If you guys are willing to reschedule for another day (Thursday, or even Tuesday or Friday) I'm certainly down with that. If not, then have a good game on Wednesday! Damien/Judan

I'm willing to reschedule if everyone else can make it.
I'm in my new place and waiting for the internet to be hooked up... there is a chance I'll have to cancel the game if I can't get it working or make other arrangements yet again! Ken |

Color me embarrassed - for some reason I thought Ken cancelled for a couple of weeks so I didn't even check if anyone was on last wednesday. Looking back
at Ken's post, I realize it was more a possibility of being down, so mea culpa!
Like Damien, I won't be on this Wednesday. I'm sitting on Saint Pete Beach in Florida as I type this, and won't be back home until next week!

OK, if we're missing 2 people I'm definitely not running a Wednesday game.
I may run a game on Thursday, but only if everyone but TheRavyn (who is out of town) can make it. I also wouldn't mind skipping a week, since I still have a lot of moving-related tasks to do, and I haven't prepped for Tamoachan yet. Ken |
