ack! sorry, I thought last night was canceled in favor of tonight!
I'll be out with clients tonight, but I should be able to check in before it gets too late, maybe an hour or two, feel free to run Gorum as needed until then. I won't be on next Wednesday, though, as my writers' group is having a little shindig.

What about next Thursday for you, Ravyn, and the others? I'd be willing to do two Thursdays in a row if need be.

Quick and Dirty Recap:
We left off with most of the group incapacitated from stinking cloud nausea. It took several rounds to wear off for most of us, during which time the little blue guys went underwater and started to fast heal. Roong was one of the first to recover, and he dove into the water to bring the fight to them. They sparred a bit inconclusively--Roong was hitting, but little damage got past damage reduction, and the damage that did was quickly healed via fast healing. As others recovered, they mainly stayed on deck, bows ready, to shoot down the blue guys if they should resurface. Once Judan's nausea wore off, he jumped off the side into the water and brought the fight to them. He managed to kill one, thanks to a flank and aid another from Roong (and a lucky crit); the other one fled, found it could not outswim Roong, and flew out of the water--only to be pincushioned by those waiting above. With the last blue guy gone, we healed wounds and set out. Evidently the blue guys had been stored in glass jars in a crate with provisions (pickled herring); we were unable to determine who loaded them up there or why. Our trip to Fort Blackstone (I probably got the name wrong) was uneventful, and we spent the night in town, reprovisioning, drinking, carousing, and doing a bit of information gathering. Also a little praying for the godshouters. Afterwards, our trip started to become troubled by grim occurrences. First, Ossic was poisoned from something he ate at dinner, an ingested poison of some kind (not bad fish). Barnacle Bill, Urol, and the shifty ranger Skald were all seen in the galley at that time, but all denied involvement, and we were unable to catch any in a lie. The next day we even did a zone of truth spell, and asked everyone on the ship if they were responsible; all denied it (though it is possible the culprit may have made the Will save). It is also possible there might be a stowaway poisoner on board. The next evening, Father Feres came staggering out of his bunkroom complaining of extreme distress. Despite some lesser restorations, he still looked bad, with a distended belly. He was brought up on deck, and it was determined the effect was magical in nature (moderate evocation aura), though the exact effect was not determined. Jenkin was consulted, and after listening at the priest's belly, he warned everybody back--just before Father Feres' belly exploded! That is where we left off, before we found out what emerged from the wreckage of the erstwhile clergyman.

To clarify: A spell was detected on Father Feres and it was Evocation with a moderate aura (IE, a 4th to 6th level spell). You do not know whether or not that
spell is the source of Father Feres' rather terminal illness.

Good session Ken!
WRT next week, Ken said that waking is a standard action, and standing is a move action of course. So don't expect to do much the first round, except Blodwyn. My intention on the 2nd round is to activate my swift expeditious retreat and zip down to help Blod. I should be able to draw a weapon and atack in the same round. I'm thinking of going for the sap, so we can subdue our quarry, whoever (or whatever) it is! I still think Skald should get in the fight, so we can have good vs. evil Skald battle it out!

Although Gorum wasn't bitten, the next day (assuming we survive the current battle) Jenkin would want to inspect him to check for any signs of
"impregnation," just in case. Actually, it provides a great excuse to poke and prod him in general, and get his insight on what it was like to be
hammered by the blue slaad. In case it wasn't evident, Jenkin has an almost morbid curiosity about such things, particularly related to outsiders.

Hey, unfortunately I may have to cancel tonight's game; my friend whose internet connection I use looks to be unavailable this evening. I'll post
something here when I know for sure.
I won't be able to reschedule to tomorrow; if tonight gets cancelled we'll probably just have to try again next week. Sorry for the late notice! I should have my own connection set up within a couple of weeks and these problems will go away. Ken |
