Magnum - Kingdom Of Madness
Excellent hard/progrock album from 1978, very reminiscent to Rush and Toto from that era. Nice vocal arrangements, gripping guitar riffs and fancy prog elements. |

Electric Light Orchestra - Out Of The Blue
I remember that it was by far my favorite album the year it was released, and it's also their last album that I liked. |

Sir Clarence, I have Eldorado and Face the Music by ELO, would you say that Out of the Blue is just as good as those?
Now playing is Beck "Odelay." This is another deluxe edition cd that I got from Best Buy for $14.99. Unlike U2's "War", this upgrade doesn't sound all that much better than the original. I still haven't listened to the 2nd cd with all of the b-sides, rarities, etc. Before that it was Prince's "Lotusflower". Good, but not his best. I'll port it into my Itunes minus a couple songs. I never noticed such Hendrixian guitars on any of his albums before. There are two songs on this one where he's paying obvious tribute to Hendrix in terms of the guitars. |

Sen, I'd rather recommend A New World Record if you don't know it already. Face The Music, A New World Record, Eldorado and Out Of The Blue, in that order, are by
far the strongest ELO albums. On The Third Day needs mentioning too. An early album, but a very good one, with one
mediocre and one brillant side (I only have it on vinyl...
Now listening to Cassandra Wilson's Blue Light 'Til Dawn album. One of the very few jazz albums that I have. |

Beck "Odelay." It's still in the cd carousel along with that Prince cd, Moby, and a couple others. I'll probably take out a couple discs today. |

Midnight Oil "The Real Thing." Never released here in the States, this is a killer collection of live cuts with a few new studio songs.
Now playing is "Blue Sky Mine", which followed a very soulful version of "In the Valley." |

Bria Valente "Elixer." This is one of the 3 cds that's in the new Prince cd set. Pretty good stuff, not surprising considering Prince wrote the
songs.
The more I listen to Prince's "Lotusflower" cd, the more I like it. Probably the most rock album he's ever done, and as I posted earlier, obviously his tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Some real good guitar on it. But the more typical Prince songs on the cd just don't go with the other stuff and ruin the overall groove, so when I port it to the Ipod I'll cut those songs out. |

The second cd of the deluxe edition of U2 "War" with alternate mixes and previously unreleased stuff. Some good tracks on here, my fav probably
being an alternate version of "New Year's Day" with different lyrics. The dance versions of a couple songs suck, though. Big time.
