As to 3rd party support, there's no question 3.5 hurt some publishers and some 3pp support, yes. However, the benefit of that was that the print 3pps that survived were the cream of the crop, and able to put out some awsome stuff (Ptolus, Castle Whiterock, Rappan Athuk Reloaded, Wilderlands Box Set, etc.).
Do you think that under current circumstances that 4.0 can survive 8-10 years (as Scott Rouse has indicated is the time uintil 5E)?
