Sad indeed - but not unexpected at this point.

I can't say I'm surprised by this, but I will say I'm saddened. I liked the UW box, and Jeff T. seemed like an awesome acolyte for Gygax's
work. Plus the Trolls also seem to be standup guys, and I bet it's gonna hurt them to lose CZ.
Gygax games has a website now, complete with forums: gygax games. Strangely, maddeningly, or wisely (take your pick), they have made exactly no announcements concerning the future of any of Gygax's work (save the now old news about LA). |

Good old nerd rage.
No need for it. After all, they gotta support the current system of D&D right? 4e? Right? |

As much as I like 4E, using 4E -despite the grognErd rage that would result- is not a good idea-def needs to be C&C, OSRIC/1E/OD&D/S&W- that type
of thing

the problem is that there are so many different perspectives from which to view the 'proper' way in which CZ should be produced. I agree with Jeff B
and many of the Grognerds that in terms of style and 'fit', some old-school system (C&C, OSRIC/1e/etc) would be best. But from a financial
perspective, it would be hard to fault the estate for going with something that would undoubtedly reach a broader audience (4e). For this reason I don't
share the outrage voiced by many on the TLG and Gygax games forums. Plus, it's hard to be outraged until there is actually a decision! [although I do feel
badly for Jeff T and the Trolls]

Personally, I would be most pleased with a 4E or 1E/OSRIC CZ.
Which means neither will ever happen...

I'm glad TLG will be fine. Great stuff there in the Erde/Aerde, Haunted Highlands, Siege, etc. But Steve himself said in the last blog (or a post - I
forget which) that it's been a tough couple of months - that's what I was referring to. But you're right that I shouldn't be pronouncing on
things concerning which I have no real info. Huzzah to the Trolls!
