Take into consideration Gideon isn't claiming to know who made any changes/additions, just that they were done. By someone. Since Gideon saw the originals via those copies he mentioned, he would know. As to who made those additions, only that person would know, everyone else can only guess/speculate. My money would be on RJK, but thats pure guess based on who I think would be most likely to have added to his original drawings and saw CZ:UW (maybe) in a time frame that would have given time to add those things before selling them at auction.

I've been damn near sick to my stomach since reading this a few weeks back on the TLG forums. Can you still order (and more importantly receive) CZ-UW from the Trolls?

I just received CZ - UW from the Trolls. (Even though the website says it is sold out last I checked. Seems to be shipping upon order.) But there is a part of
me that is just sad. CZ will never really be seen. When Gygax passed, and now with the change via Gygax Games, I don't think we'll ever really see the
dungeon.

my understanding (from afar, mostly by reading TLG fora) is that the Trolls have shipped all the preorders and the direct orders, and that the UW box is only
just now making its way into the retail chain.
As for news about the subsequent installments, everyone seems to be waiting for Stephen Chenault (head troll) to make an announcement, which he will do when the time is ripe, right or whatever. but Gideon probably has better info ... |

I confess that there's a lot of room for speculation. I have my own guesses/fears about why it's taking so long for the UW to hit the distribution
channels. But they're pretty far out there, so I won't give them an internet afterlife. I am forcing myself to wait and see what Steve has to say
(can't say I'm happy about the wait, but I have no say in the matter).
As for the waiting to sell out before announcing, don't you think they would have pushed to get it into retailers' hands sooner if that were the case? I dunno. could be, I suppose. it'd be nice to hear something from someone. |

Usually Gideon chimes in long before now on such gloomy speculation - that in itself is...disquieting.
Maybe he's just too busy drawing up those maps for level 9 right now? (crosses fingers)

I don't know Gail's motivations obviously, but as a consumer, TLG is pretty frustrating. Now, the PEOPLE behind TLG are awesome, every single one of
them, but everything gets strung along for ages..whether it's the CKG or CZ, the layout is...to put it politely, not so great (Yggsburgh e.g.) there are
tons of errors/editing issues, and while Peter's art is good (very good in many cases), the books are just physically bland (IMO, of course). I'm not
sure why, but I've seen plenty of B&W books from other companies that are just beautiful, so I'm not sure why TLG has to continue to be that way.
It's like I'm reading old copies of Gamelord's Thieves Guild modules- which was fine 27years ago. From the original D20 modules and Codex of Erde,
up to the East Mark, things haven't changed drastically for the better with the products I've purchased. The consumer side of me has a hard time
continually telling myself "well, cut them some MORE slack, they are a bunch of cool guys"- after awhile , great people or not, you want to support
someone who gets things done in a timely, well executed fashion.

The layout design is a conscious design decision. The idea was for functional and readable with efficient use of space. Fancy headers and graphics were not
desired.
